Guests are illustrated on a first-come, first-served basis unless we plan otherwise. Alex takes a quick photo and complete each portrait while guests mingle, so no live posing is required—though they’re always welcome to watch the painting process. An assistant can be added for photography if needed.

Your guests will leave with the original, custom artwork or if you have selected digital illustration, they leave with a printed digital drawing. Art can either be placed in a protective plastic sleeve or a small folder.

Digital files can also be shared with the event host after the event so that you have copies of all of the guests’ portraits.

Watercolour and digital illustrations take about 7-10 minutes to draw; Alex can draw approximately 6-10 individuals per hour. If you would like to try to fit more illustrations into a shorter block of time, Alex can create more simplified portraits. Examples of different portrait styles can be found throughout this page.

If demand exceeds the time available, Alex can photograph guests and complete their portraits afterward in her home studio at her hourly rate. If you prefer to keep all drawings on-site, she can also help arrange additional illustrators to support overflow. Before your event, we can review your budget and decide which option works best.

Venues should supply one table and one chair (a 6–8 ft table is ideal so completed artwork can be displayed for pickup). For events involving digital printing or dim lighting, access to a power outlet is required.

Alex brings all art materials and paper unless we’ve arranged otherwise. If you’d like Alex to work on branded paper, she is happy to accommodate—just confirm details like paper size and stock before you place your order.

Packages begin with a three-hour minimum. A travel fee is applied for events outside of Toronto. We are happy to discuss your budget and customize an option that best fits your event.
